Pascualy,
I don't have ported barrel, therefore, I can't speak from first hand experience. I beleive the intent is to reduce muzzle jump. If that is the case I think it would help more with doubles than singles.
It may also reduce felt recoil.
All in all I have found that most of this game is in my head at this point. With that being the case, if I think ported barrels will help then they probably will help.
Hope that helps.

Evening all - new to sporting clays, but a hunter all my life. Have been badly bitten by this sport. I did find a '92 Browning Citori Grade 1 w/ported barrels in excellent condition in an estate sale. Really enjoy shooting this gun, seem to do reasonablely well with it, and have read many posts on other sites for and against the system. My son shoots regularly with me and says he can tell a slight difference in handling between it and his Franchi.
Posts from other shooters seem to indicate they are not comfortable shooting next to or in the vicinity of someone with ported barrels. Not sure how to handle this problem, but guess you have to be sensitive to it. Any suggestions will be most welcome.
