It's The Hat
Written by TrapMan
It looks like I won't be defending my winter league trap title at my local club this year (www.cdaskeetandtrap.com). My performance during the first half of the 12 week tournament was a testament to my lack of practice. Shooting 21's and 23's as if that was the point of the whole thing. Then yesterday, I headed up to the range and forgot my hat. Can't say that I'd ever shot without a hat. Now, I'm not into the lucky hat thing so I figured no big deal I'll just shoot without it. I dropped 6 targets on that round of 25, 3 in a row were from station 3! All I could think about was my dang hat. I headed into the club to pay for another round and decided a club hat would be a nice addition to my wardrobe and being the good internet marketer type, I figured I should split test my “no hat-lots of misses” dilemma. Well, I only missed one target in the next 100 rounds, screwing up my first hundred straight (again) on target 65. I finished the 300 target league with a 273 as opposed to last year's 288. So is that my lucky hat. I don't think so. But I will never shoot without a hat again.

Can't get enough
Written by bre222
Never touched a gun before November 2009, actually was a bit of an anti-gun advocate.  Then a friend took me to the gun club and taught be how to shoot trap.  Now I can't get enough time on  the field and can't wait to get better.  So far my best line was 21 with my girl friend's fathers 12 Mossberg 12 gauge pump.  The soreness in my shoulder is starting to wane, even though many said it would only get worse. I think I might improve if  I start participating in a friendly travel league with my club, yes MY club, I joined last month.  Now I have to go back to work to support my new "habit". Do many trap shooters' move into skeet?  It's starting to peek my curiosity.
