Mike Pickering, a Niagara Falls trap shooter, was honoured by city council July 21 for his win at the 2008 Canadian Trap Shooting championship in Hamilton July 5-6.

Pickering successfully hit a perfect 200 out of 200 biodegradable clay targets, which fly through the air at more than 90 miles an hour, then 74 out of 75 in the finals.

Pickering received a plaque presented by Mayor Ted Salci for his win in the 16-yard, 200 A Division.

"I would like to thank council for recognizing the sport," said Pickering.
